Inbjudan till årets premiering och IBOP

Svenska FrieserhästFöreningen bjuder in till årets premiering och IBOP den 31/8-1/9 2013.
Premieringen kommer att hållas på Vetlandaortens ryttarförenings anläggning i Vetlanda under två dagar.

För att premiera din häst måste du vara medlem i SFHF och i KFPS.
Kostnaden för att premiera eller göra en IBOP är 1500 kr, i priset ingår det en boxplats och handlers. För föl ingår det dessutom chipmärkning i premieringsavgiften. Det tillkommer en kostnad från KFPS som avser hanteringen av stamtavla till häst och stamtavla/pass till föl. Om din häst blir sterförklarad tillkommer dessutom en extra kostnad, fakturan skickas till dig efter premieringen.

Sista anmälningsdag 1 augusti

Du är anmäld till premieringen när avgiften är betald.
Efteranmälan 2000 kronor.

Anmälningsavgiften sätts in på bg 135995-9 ange ägare och hästens namn på inbetalningen.

På fredagkvällen kommer föreningen att anordna en gemensam middag.
Under helgen kommer flera arrangemang att anordnas.

Central Stallion Proving USA

The proving of three stallions in the USA was overshadowed by the accident of training leader Willy Arts. Arts seems to be making a quick recovery. Doeke Hoekstra had the main role of training leader of the formation for the past ten days. There were three major stallions, but Bene 476 really shone.

Cantering in the IBOP driving exam

During the IBOP driving exam (a functionality and usability test) the basic gait canter was never asked of a Friesian horse. However, this is something that the KFPS would like to add to the driving exam. Last march the KFPS, in collaboration with drivers and owners, performed a trial.

Harmen 424 Sport passed away

In march had suddenly ended the life of the 11-year-old studbook stallion Harmen 424 Sport. In 2004 Harmen 424 was among the first class of stallions approved in Ermelo on the street and in the cage.

Education week

In 2007 and also 2009 we organized an Education Week with information about the Friesian Horse especially for foreign members. This was a big success and that is why we are organizing this course again for 2013. On this course we will teach you all the things you need to know about judging the Friesian Horse including the racial aspects, the conformation, structure of the legs, lameness and leg defects and the movements. We will alslo give a guide to the order of inspections.

Phryso International

In consultation with our members, it was decided at the 2013 WFHO Meeting to no longer issue a Phryso International. The print magazine was since successfully replaced by a monthly digital newsletter, presenting our members abroad with the latest news and interesting features taken from the Dutch Phryso magazine. Phryso and the KFPS Newsletter will be issued simultaneously, so all KFPS members are informed of the latest in Friesian horses at the same time.

For keuringen and other Friesian horse events, please use this link and find out which dates to save on your calendar. The Central Mare Inspection for example is planned for 13 and 14 September, followed by the KFPS Stallion Show on 9, 10 and 11 January. For more information on these two key events, please refer to the next KFPS Newsletter at the beginning of May.

Banker and treasurer

Peter Bazuijnen (41) recently joined the KFPS Board as treasurer. The man who fell in love with the Friesian horse as a child and now owns one himself. Bazuijnen is a banker that appreciates return on investment. ‘KFPS has my knowledge and insight at its disposal and I learn a great deal about Friesian horse breeding. A fair deal.’

Deformities and dystocia deliveries

A foal with crooked legs or a curved neck can surely be viewed as one of the biggest disappointments for a breeder. Veterinarians Catherine Delesalle and Marco de Bruijn go into
the importance of fast and adequate measures.

‘It all happened to me with a bit of luck’

Some breeders tend to contribute their successes to their extensive knowledge and careful choice of partners for their mares. But KFPS Breeder of the Year Jan Kruis (69) has no trouble admitting to a certain amount of luck, that plays a part in his entire life.

Three stallions approved in the U.S.

After the Central Research in the U.S. there are now three newly approved stallions. Two through the regular performance testing and one using a shortened study.

choosing a stallion. When choosing a stallion it is not just important to use
the best-quality stallions but it is even more important to make the correct
combinations. The KFPS strives to make as many breeding data on its
stallions available as possible.

2013 KFPS Stallion Show Championships

An abundance of Friesian horse lovers cheered their favourite in the tantalizing KFPS Stallion Show final. For a moment, life seemed to imitate itself in a packed WTC Expo,
with Norbert 444 and Beart 411. They lasted the longest, together with Tsjalle
454 and Jasper 366P Sport.

Central Stallion Proving

A fine group of twenty Friesian stallions will enter the Central Stallion Proving this
Autumn. In Leeuwarden, they were selected from the eighty stallions that arose
from the First Viewing in Ermelo, last November.

2013 KFPS Horse of the Year

Friesian horse lovers from all over the world voted for their 2012 KFPS Horse of the Year. Together with a professional jury they decided that Egberdina’s Tjardo (Time 398) was to follow in Annichje fan Bokkum’s footsteps.

Show Time!

A show night can only be a success when the hall is packed and everyone remains seated to
the very end, even when the shows are a bit behind on schedule. Margriet van
der Weide-Schoonderbeek of the Dutch Ansen was a bit anxious they wouldn’t, as
she had prepared the evening’s exquisite end piece.

More ‘My Horse’ functionality

The exclusive KFPS member ‘My Horse’ menu on www.kfps.nl now has even more possibilities, to be found in a separate portal: My KFPS. It’s the basis of a whole new
set of applications made available soon: My Horses, My Keuringen, My Services,
My Invoices.

Clinics ‘Targeting mental and physical balance’

There was plenty to see and learn at the 2013 KFPS Stallion Show. The Friday day-time
programme was completely geared to acquiring and sharing knowledge and experience..
